POC Trail Running & Adventure Retreat
 

Join Alison and new friends to run, explore, and experience the best the Kenai Peninsula has to offer. This retreat is for people of all genders who identify as Black, indigenous or other people of color.  It is rare that we have opportunities to connect with each other in nature - this is our opportunity to reclaim space!

Come enjoy a sense of community with runners from across the country, while taking in a stunning section of Alaska. Days will be spent on trails and only-in-Alaska adventures; evenings will see us connecting lakeside with new friends.

The 6-day/5-night package includes lodging, ground transportation, all breakfasts and four dinners, guided runs, great snacks, and a variety of adventurous side excursions:

  • Running in mountains, by salmon-filled rivers, and on the historic Iditarod Trail
     

  • River rafting turquoise waters of the Kenai River, into its National Wildlife Refuge
     

  • Private ½-day cruise in Kenai Fjords National Park for glacier and wildlife viewing
     

  • Training session with the ultimate (4-legged) trailrunners at a pro racing kennel
     

  • Welcome yoga and stretch session with guided meditation
     

  • Scenic train ride and short shakeout run to Spencer Glacier
     

  • Unlimited paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking onsite
     

  • Fireside chats and s’mores on the shores of Summit Lake
     

  • Delicious and hearty meals with local, Alaskan twists

Lost Lake

Our host is the historic and luxurious Summit Lake Lodge in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula.
Nestled on a 250-acre lake in the Chugach National Forest, the lodge was built in the 1950’s as a roadhouse while the Seward Highway was being constructed.

 

Today the lodge features in-house dining, a micro-lounge, and an onsite coffee cafe. Our group will be the only guests present at Summit Lake Lodge, celebrating everything summer under the Midnight Sun.

Guests must arrive and meet for group pick-up at 8:30am local time, August 6th, at Courtyard
Anchorage Airport
. Shuttle will return guests to Anchorage International Airport at 9:30am on
August 11th; additional drop off points (guests’ choice in the ANC area) from 9:30am - 11:00am.

Prices are:

$5195 for a private lakefront cabin with king bed

 

$4895 for a private wooded cabin with king bed

 

$3995 for a shared cabin with 2 queen beds

A $1000 non-refundable deposit secures your space; the remaining balance is due in two equal payments on March 1 and May 1. Signing up after these dates? Our invoicing system will request what is due or past due, according to this schedule.
